The Clerk of the Circuit Court is the County Recorder. The Clerk records instruments present for recording. All instruments recorded in the Official Records are open to the public, under the supervision of the Clerk of the Court or the staff to copy and inspect.

The Recording Department is located at the Volusia County Court Room A121 I Deland. You can access official records using the Clerk of Courts Online Record Search or the public access terminals located in the Recording Division. You can search records by name, file number, or by book and page numbers. Volusia County’s Official records date back to 1887 in the form of books, microfilm, and digital images. You can research deeds, marriage records, military discharge, and plats.

A staff member will assist you in your search, but they are not allowed to perform the searches.

You can obtain copies of deeds and the cost is $1.00 per page and $2.00 for certification. This is the same fee for any document you are copying.
If you are looking to change your deed due to a sale, you must prepare a new document through a law office or title company. Deeds are the official record of who owns a property.
